2022 Heights Tigers Youth Football, and Cheer General Information

Welcome to Heights Tigers Youth Football and Cheer Page. Please read below for information on our program.

 

Season begins April 4, 2022. Practices will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00-7:30 PM and on Saturdays, from 2:00-4:00 PM. All practices will be held at Denison Park, 1015 Quarry Road, Cleveland Heights, Ohio 44121 (Monticello and Quarry, behind Church of the Master).

Registration is $55.00 ($40 is paid to Heights Tigers and $15 paid directly to the league separately). Kids will play a total of 6 games starting late April through the end of May/early June. For those players who continue onto tackle football, we will apply $25.00 of your fees towards your tackle account ($150.00 instead of $175.00). Registration also requires a copy of last report card, BMV-issued State IDs (will be returned at the end of the season), and up-to-date physical (within 1 calendar year). Flag parents will also need to pay an additional $15.00 registration fee to Cleveland Muny Football at www.cmfleague.org/flag-football/registration/. This $15.00 fee will be paid directly to the league and is in addition to the $40.00 fee payable to the Tigers. 

Items needed for Flag football registration:

1. Completed contract (online or printed)
2. Current sports physical
3. State ID (no birth certificates will be accepted)
4. $40.00 registration fees payable to the Cleveland Heights Tigers. Fees are due in full by April 28, 2022. 
5. $15.00 league registration fees payable to Cleveland Muny League

Season begins June 4, 2022. All June practices will be held on Saturdays, from 2:00PM-4:00PM at Denison Park, located at 1015 Quarry Road, Cleveland Heights, Ohio 44121.

Registration is $175.00. Kids will play a total of 7 games starting late August through the end of October. For those players who continue from flag into tackle football, we will apply $25.00 of your fees towards your tackle account ($150.00 instead of $175.00). Registration also requires a copy of last report card, State ID, and up-to-date physical (within 1 calendar year).

2. BMV-issued State IDs (will be returned at the end of the season)

A copy of 4th quarter report cards, and sports physical (available during practices for $10 if needed).

4. $25 deposit, which is non-refundable. Fee balances are due in full July 1, 2022. Registration items are also due on this date.
5. Current sports physical (must be within calendar year)

Sibling discount: Registering more than one child? Get $10 off for sibling discount.

Referral discount: Refer a friend and receive $25 off tackle football registration.

Early bird special (tackle football only): Pay fees in full before June 1 and receive $25 off.

Football fees ($175) include use of helmet, shoulder pads, and personalized game jerseys which kids get to keep. Parents must purchase cleats, black practice pants and 7-piece pad set. Balance is due July 1, 2022.

Football Skills camps (recommended for new players) begin June 4 and meet every Saturday from 2-4pm at Denison Park (located at 1015 Quarry Road, Cleveland Heights, Ohio 44121). Skills camps end June 25, 2022.

Conditioning (football) begins July 6 and will take place at Denison Park on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6-8pm and on Saturdays from 3-5pm. Each player must complete 10 hours of conditioning before partaking in full-contact drills/practices.

Training camp (football) begins July 18, 2022, and will take place Monday-Fridays (Thursdays off). Training camp ends August 14.

School practice schedules begin August 22 and will take place Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6-7: 30 pm (or dusk) at Forest Hill Park (intersection of Lee and Monticello across from Forest Hill Presbyterian Church).

Games start mid-late August and conclude mid-late October (playoffs).

 We will play a total of 7 regular season games (not including playoffs). Home games will be played at Cleveland Heights High School on Sundays. Away games will be played on Sundays or Saturdays in various cities such as Bedford, South Euclid, Euclid, Painesville, Akron, Elyria, and Lorain.

Every child will play. There are no all-star teams in Cleveland Heights. We focus on teaching fundamental cheerleading and football and preparing children to be successful student-athletes.

Youth sports is fun and safe with the Tigers.

Members of our coaching staff are connected to the staffs at the high school and middle school. Our cheer coordinator is the Varsity Head Cheer coach at Heights and the high school Varsity Football coach is President of our Football Conference. We are the official feeder program for the CH-UH school district and are fully endorsed and supported by the Heights athletic department.

Children will play with and against kids in their own age groups: ages 5-7 (tiny mites), 8 & 9 years (Mitey mites), and 10 & 11 years (Pee Wees).




Cheer and majorette fees ($150) include socks, shoes, hair bows, spanks, and use of cheer uniform. Cheerleaders and Majorettes keep everything except uniforms, which must be turned in at the conclusion of the season.  Jogging suits are not required and must be purchased separately if parents desire. Balance is due July 1, 2022.

Cheer practices will begin in July. Practices will take place at Forest Hill Park (Monticello and Lee Road in Cleveland Heights). Practice dates will be communicated to parents in June. Please check back for updates. Practice times are from 6:00-8:00PM.

New cheerleader must attend a MANDATORY 2-day cheer camp (date and location TBA). Camps are all day (8am-4pm, times subject to change). Campers will receive a t-shirt and lunch. Cost is $50 per camper.
